Multimodal Brabant

the challenge

For the supply, removal and transit of goods, unnecessary use is made of traditional, individual and unilateral road transport. As a result, social and economic objectives are not being met. The emerging objectives concerning CO2 emissions, the maintenance plans of the congested road network and at the same time the increasing growth of freight volumes stimulate the search for and experimentation with other modalities.

Future-proof transport, where innovation and cooperation come together, is becoming a necessity if we are to remain competitive. Transport where perfect availability, cooperation scale, sustainability and mobility go hand in hand. LCB Multimodal facilitates and supports companies in the development of joint transport routes which make optimal use of rail, water and road transport.

the solution

To support the program, Argaleo developed the Digitwin "Atlas Multimodal Brabant". This Atlas provides an overview of all joint corridors and locations where transporters can make use of the joint transport routes. In addition, the Atlas shows the CO2 targets achieved to give insight into the benefits of the system. The user can determine from his location which transhipment terminal is best accessible for him to make use of the joint corridors. And he can contact them with the push of a button.

These Digitwin solutions include the following insights:

  • Locations of all joint corridor routes
  • Location information of transhipment terminals
  • Selection module based on country of destination
  • KPI dashboard with sustainability scores of the system

result

The Digitwin supports the LCB Multimodal team with the creation of awareness around the joint corridor programme and therefore with internal and external communication. In addition, users can decide for themselves in an interactive and digital environment which terminal best suits their logistic process. But even more importantly, they can determine how their sustainable performance will improve if they participate in the program.

Because companies in transport, trade and industry collaborate and innovate on Joint Corridors via the Digitwin, they make an enormous impact together. Each for their own business results and together for the quality of life and accessibility of Brabant and far beyond.
