When you ask a cyclist how the bike path is, you get a different answer than when you measure the pavement with a sensor. Both answers are true. But in most policy processes, only one counts. In the European GREENGAGE project, the Province of North Brabant and Breda University of Applied Sciences worked together with partners including the Cyclists’ Association and Municipality of Heusden to find ways to combine both perspectives in policy decisions. Digitwin made it possible to visualize citizens’ experiences and sensor data side-by-side, giving policymakers a more complete understanding for better cycling policy.
