Our Digitwin technology was deployed during King’s Day celebrations across multiple Dutch cities, providing valuable real-time insights into crowd management and public safety. This report documents the results of that deployment and the lessons learned that will help us improve future implementations.

Event overview

King’s Day is one of the largest celebrations in the Netherlands, attracting hundreds of thousands of people to public spaces throughout the country. Managing crowds at this scale requires sophisticated coordination between multiple agencies and real-time situational awareness. This year, we deployed Digitwin across several participating cities to test the system’s effectiveness in a high-stress, high-volume event.

Key findings

The Digitwin deployment during King’s Day provided several important insights. First, real-time crowd flow data helped event organizers identify bottlenecks and redirect visitor flows more effectively. Second, the system proved valuable for emergency response teams, enabling faster decision-making during incidents. Third, the data collected will help cities better plan for future large-scale events.

Lessons learned

As is always the case with new technology deployments, we learned important lessons about how to improve the system. Better integration with existing emergency response systems, more customizable alert thresholds for different event types, and improved mobile access for field personnel were among the key improvements identified. These lessons will guide our product development efforts in the coming months.

Looking forward

The King’s Day deployment demonstrated that Digitwin has significant potential for improving event management and public safety. We look forward to working with our partner cities to implement the improvements identified during this evaluation and to continue expanding the reach of this technology.
