Since 2017, entrepreneurs in the Veenendaal city center have worked together within BIZ Winkelstad Veenendaal. To better align the activities of Winkelstad Veenendaal with the various target groups, insight into data is essential. This data forms the basis for the strategy for the coming four years, with goals of attracting more visitors, extending their stay, and strengthening the entrepreneurial climate.
To achieve these ambitions, the expertise of Argaleo has been engaged. Argaleo will develop a detailed marketing monitoring plan with which progress on these ambitions can be tracked based on the right data. During the first year, it will help with the analysis and interpretation of available data and information. For this purpose, it provides an integrated dashboard via its Digitwin platform that brings together all relevant information about the city center for direct insight into results.
Argaleo works on this in collaboration with Robin van der Helm (van der Helm Consultancy); “Working on a city center requires knowledge and especially insight. Are we doing the right things and are we doing them well? Is something happening that we hope for when we turn the knobs? Linking ambitions to measurable indicators is essential. Together with Argaleo, we ensure this.”
“With these new steps, we are contributing to the further development of Veenendaal into a vibrant and attractive city center, benefiting both residents and visitors. Historically, Veenendaal has a strong regional function,” says Henny Jansen, City Center Manager of Winkelstad Veenendaal. “We want to further strengthen this function in the coming years. Good insight into visitor data is essential and will form the basis for our marketing strategy.

City Center Day
On Thursday, April 11, Veenendaal will host City Center Day. Veenendaal won the prize in 2023 for Most Inspiring City Center Project for the theme Livable & Social. During the visit to this city, we will visit this wonderful project and discuss with the parties that made it a great success. The day offers a comprehensive program with inspiring speakers, a walking tour through the city center, and a visit to several inspiring city center projects, including a dashboard demonstration.
