Argaleo has joined the DMI ecosystem. This further expands DMI. The accession was ratified on November 8 during the Smart City Expo in Barcelona, where the ecosystem presented itself with a large number of public and private partners
Argaleo director-owner Jeroen Steenbakkers is happy and delighted with the accession: “Together with various Dutch cities, we have developed solutions with our digital twin platform for insight into economic development, safety, and mobility. The DMI ecosystem is a perfect opportunity for us to share this knowledge and scale up with the other partners to other cities.”
Caspar de Jonge, program manager at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and one of the initiators of the DMI ecosystem, is pleased with the new participants. “With these parties, DMI continues to grow. The goal is to build a strong and diverse collaboration with which we can further accelerate smart and sustainable urban development. The accession of these and similar parties helps with that. I hope this example will be followed by many colleague companies and other organizations.”
In addition to Argaleo, her collaboration partner Civity also joined. Roelof Schram, director of Civity: “The DMI ecosystem has a need for quality and uniformity in the use of data and metadata. We have been providing service, knowledge, and proven results for many years with the data catalog and metadata quality tool, which others within DMI can immediately benefit from. We do not want to leave that untapped and therefore Civity is happy to participate.”
About the Dmi Ecosystem
The Dutch Metropolitan Innovations (DMI) ecosystem focuses on smart, sustainable urban development and mobility innovation. It provides the domains of mobility, public space, and housing with new instruments from the digital world. If we really want to tackle all the challenges in our cities well and especially sustainably, we need to do that in combination. So that the way we design, live in, and move through our environment also truly brings sustainable progress. That requires the deliberate coordination of policy and investments – both between governments and between governments and the business community – so that we achieve scale and impact quickly. And we must make maximum use of the possibilities of information technology, within socially responsible frameworks.
The DMI ecosystem is a public-private partnership of the business community, knowledge institutions, G40 and G4 municipalities, provinces, and the ministries of IenW and BZK under a common unified Agreements Framework. DMI is also made possible by the National Growth Fund.
