An integrated dashboard that provides insight into the current situation in the city center and also shows the impact of implemented actions and interventions. That is what Centrummanagement Oss was looking for. The solution that meets this need they found in Argaleo’s ‘Digital Twin’. The collaboration between the two parties was officially launched on June 12 in the Oss town hall under the supervision of aldermen Sidney van den Bergh and Dolf Warris.
Challenges of a medium-sized municipality
Visitor numbers, vacancies, accessibility, and the livability of the city center. These are topics that many downtown managers of large and medium-sized cities deal with. But how do you ensure new insights to base decision-making on? And how do you then ensure that insight can be given into the actual impact of all efforts? These issues are also on the agenda in the center of Oss. ‘The center of Oss is distinguished from other Brabant city centers by a large presence of self-employed entrepreneurs. Of the more than 300 businesses in the Oss center, 225 are self-employed entrepreneurs. We call this the local character,’ according to Jack van Lieshout, Center Manager Oss.
Focus on a future-proof city center
Centrummanagement Oss wants to ensure a future-proof city center that is and remains attractive to visitors. For this, it is important that they can monitor the impact of economic and social developments. What, for example, are the consequences of changed consumer purchasing behavior for the local entrepreneur in the city center? And how can they advise these entrepreneurs as well as possible? Because the data needed for these insights often comes from different sources, it was quite challenging to perform good analyses. There was therefore a need for an integrated dashboard that brings all data together clearly.
Jack van Lieshout: ‘We were looking for an innovative no-nonsense party. Through a common connection, we came across Argaleo. We are very satisfied with this collaboration. The dashboard of the so-called ‘Digital Twin’ brings together a lot, including new data for us. It has enabled us to work more efficiently and it gives us a user-friendly and comprehensive insight that helps us make the right decisions’
Control of the data
The dashboard gives downtown managers control of the various data. From vacancies to visitor numbers, everything comes together. With the knowledge they gain from it, they can better advise new and existing entrepreneurs in the city center on relevant topics. The monthly clear reports they can now share with entrepreneurs provide clear communication. Something that Centrummanagement Oss values greatly.
