Together with colleagues from the municipality of Amsterdam, the municipality of Utrecht and the National Police, Argaleo visited the municipality and local police of Turin. Our delegation was invited to exchange knowledge and projects on innovation in crowd management and the deployment of drones.
We received a very warm welcome from our Italian colleagues and had an inspiring working session at the innovation office of the municipality and police at the OGR TECH tech community. Turin demonstrated a dashboard designed to give police and private security the same operational picture of crowd flows. To combat the intimidation of women on public transport, Turin has developed a chatbot through which unwanted situations can be reported. Turin also uses the same technology that NASA employs to remotely control robots on Mars for the remote operation of drones.
Naturally, we gave a demonstration of the Crowd Safety Manager pilot in Scheveningen and the Drone Lab in Amsterdam. These were inspiring days, which also included a meeting with the commander of Turin’s local police and the national police. The visit marked a new step in the collaboration with Turin that will certainly continue.
