The Economie & Ruimte platform is organizing together with Rabobank and Argaleo the mini-congress “Smart City; from IoT to Smart Living”. Various speakers will explain how big data, geo data, AI and IoT help us with themes such as housing, mobility, energy transition, circularity and self-sufficiency. In a plenary session alternated with various workshops, we bring leaders from business, education and government together to create a smarter and healthier Smart City environment with greater impact for citizens.

You are cordially invited to join our Mini-Congress on April 7 to discuss current urban challenges:
- Pressure on land use and spatial planning;
- Liveable and healthy city;
- Energy transition;
- Circular construction.
We observe:
- A shortage of housing development locations due to falling behind in housing construction programs and the mismatch of housing types continues to challenge us. Too few homes suitable for longer independent living at home, the call for the nursing home is heard ever more loudly, far too few affordable homes for starters.
- That people are encouraged to live healthier but then we need a healthy city that invites walking and recreation close to home.
- Transitioning away from gas is easier said than done. The energy transition goes beyond placing solar panels and windmills. What does the brilliant business model of the energy transition look like and where should we begin?
- Netherlands circular by 2050. Global demand for raw materials for food, electrical appliances and clothing is increasing sharply. That is why the government works together with industry, knowledge institutes and nature and environmental organizations, governments, unions, financial institutions and other civil organizations to be more economical and intelligent with raw materials. The goal: the Netherlands fully circular by 2050 and how far are we with circular construction?
